@spitta_andretti will always hold a special place on my top 5 MC list. An honorable, permanent member of that list. The Jet Life founder has a catalog of music that is rivaled by very few. Purely, the depth of the catalog alone is enough to cement his legendary status. However, the rate of the output of music is equally as prolific. A huge part of my fandom was his bravery; he never shied away from a beat or a flow, never. His incorporation of both Southern trap heavy beats & jazz samples was an early introduction to music that I had never heard before. (Plus, he has one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen.)⠀

With an early co-sign from Master P & No Limit Records, Curren$y transitioned into a role with Lil Wayne’s Young Money roster as one of its first signees. His relationship with the New Orleans based label helped build the foundation for the Jet Life empire he was destined to make. The birth of the label began in 2011 & the plane hasn’t touched down since. Another part of his legacy will be his relationship with numerous artists in the industry. Curren$y has frequently collaborated with artists such as @wizkhalifa, @bambambaklava, @statikselekt, @freddiegibbs, @alanthechemist, @kushedgod & more. Whether we are talking music, clothes, merchandise or cannabis, this man is a trailblazer & his legacy is forever. ⠀
