EBR Ep. #26 Brasstracks Write-Up

This is the tracklist for the 26th Early Bird Radio episode (gah damn). && for this week’s show we did a SoundFile on New York City powerhouse duo, @brasstracks. ⠀

BUT before we dive into the details of the episode we wanted to say that although this show illustrates the sounds of Brasstracks, it’s also rooted in happiness, positivity & love. During times like these it’s important to remember what can help shine light on the dark times. ⠀

With that being said, the two artists that make up Brasstracks are Ivan Jackson (trumpet) & Conor Rayne (drums). They first met at the Manhattan School of Music & afterwards embarked on a musical journey that has already placed them in studio sessions with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Working alongside the likes of @chancetherapper, @anderson._paak, @robertglasper, @col3trane, @masego, @goldlink, @lidogotpix, @griz & many, many more. ⠀

The sound they have come to harness is a fusion of hiphop, jazz, R&B, funk & electronic all culminating in what they have coined as “Future Brass.” The sounds within this episode reflect the duo’s eclectic ear & includes numerous artists they are either frequently collaborating with or are featuring in their work; artists such as @snatraraps, @_alexanderlewis, @xvromar, @callmesaygrace, @fatherdude, @theunderachievers, @flamm & more. ⠀
